DSI is assisting our client with their search for an experienced PHP Developer to work on site in their Sacramento office. In this role, you will develop and maintain web applications, and will be challenged on a daily basis to solve problems in new and creative ways, as well as be capable of making a meaningful contribution from day one. This position reports directly to the Director, Information Technology.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Develop PHP programming code from scratch or by adapting existing website graphics packages and software to meet business requirements
• Upload the website code into application servers
• Testing the website and identifying any technical issues and remedying problems that may exist
• Determining any functionality that the site must support and developing PHP content based on approved layout
• Identifying the content type the site will host and ensuring compatibility with the PHP programming requirements
• Giving guidance on colors, layout and styles for client applications and websites.
• Develop Oracle, SQL Server procedures and packages
• Develop end user reports from databases
Skills and Specifications:
• PHP expert level development skills
• Expert level Oracle and SQL Server database development skills
• Ability to translate business requirements into system design
• Strong debugging skills and ability to easily and quickly read and modify existing code
• Ability to partner and work in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment
• Experience in software graphics manipulation and web programming
• Access development experience
• Ability to quickly adapt to and pick up new techniques and technology
• Ability to work individually or in a team to beat tight deadlines
• Excellent written and verbal communications and interpersonal skills
• Strong leadership and decision-making abilities, able to demonstrate a business presence appropriate for client contact and staff interaction, and must possess a sound foundation in and commitment to delivering quality, responsive client service.
• Analytic thinker with a proven attention to detail.
Education and Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degrees in Computer Science, IT, software engineering
• 5+ years of industry experience
• Certification in PHP web development, graphics and software programming
