Job title: Senior Development Engineer Embedded Software.

My client a developer of detection and metrology products based in Staffordshire is currently seeking to recruit a Senior Development Engineer to develop their embedded software/firmware.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the embedded software design for gas detection equipment which allows for two way communications with the device.

Main responsibilities include-

• Analysis and definition of the products requirements.
• Embedded Software/Firmware design and implementation for detection and communication products.
• Definition of software standards and testing procedures.
• Liaison with clients regarding product designs.

Key Requirements

• Relevant electronics or software development degree.
• 5 years experience of working with microcontrollers.
• 3 years embedded software or firmware programming in C,C++ and assembler.
• Design for real time applications.

Desirable Experience

• 3 years analogue and digital electronic design.
• GSM/GPRS/CSD communications experience.
• Experience of AMI metering electronics.
