Senior Development Engineer-Hips
This Senior level engineer will be responsible for development and delivery of products to the market. He/She will ensure that products are launched to meet both deadlines and meet goals and objectives that support the competitive and financial goals of the organization. Under general supervision, makes decisions regarding project budgets, assignment/alignment of resources, project execution and surgeon/customer relations. May influence product designs and choice of raw materials, processes and equipment necessary to develop and manufacture products as well as work as part of a team for a new product introduction or other types of development project. Comply with the company's procedures as detailed in the SOP manual (ensuring compliance to FDA, MDD, etc. to design control regulations). Introduce new technology and methodology as appropriate to increase the effectiveness of the business. Handle several projects concurrently depending in the magnitude of each and meet delivery promise in terms of budget and timescales. The candidate will work within a small team of the RD Development Group which consists typically of 2, 3 or 4 Bioengineers with appropriate supervision. Provide competitive and business analysis to the WW Business Team to aid in developing the program and project strategies. Interact with design surgeons and customers aligned with new product development project.
Qualifications:
- B.S. in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related.
- MS or PhD in a relevant scientific subject is an asset.
- 5 years product development experience as an individual contributor working in industry is required. Medical devices experience is preferred for this role.
- Project Management experience is required. PMI certification or equivalent is an asset for this role.
- Orthopedic implant, instrument and technology design experience preferred.
- Experience working with Vendors and suppliers is required.
- Working in a matrix environment is preferred.
- This position will required up to 10% travel both domestic and international.
