Senior Digital Media Planner Job in San Clemente 92672, California US
Summary:
This is a single position, reporting directly to the Vice President of Sales in San Clemente, however the individual may work primarily out of any of our existing offices: San Clemente, Philadelphia, New York, or Chicago.
The Media Sales/Media Planner will be responsible for working with our Poptent National Sales reps in identifying, pitching, negotiating, and closing interactive advertising revenue from ad agencies and direct advertisers. This will be accomplished through active prospecting, lead generation, qualifying opportunities, conducting needs analysis, proposing solutions, forecasting and closing new business sales. In addition, this position relies heavily on both brand agencies industry knowledge and their ability to leverage industry/agency relationships to meet and exceed revenue goals.
Essential Functions:

Strategize and generate revenue from agency and sales territory assignments through sales calls and sales presentations introducing and positioning Poptent’s video placement and optimization solutions into high—value brand advertiser accounts

Persuasively communicate Poptent’s offerings and unique value-proposition to advertisers and agencies via email, over the phone, through in-person meetings/presentations and through formal campaign proposals in a way that meets advertiser and agency business needs and marketing objectives

Develop and maintain relationships at all personnel levels within an account, demonstrating a thorough understanding of the account’s organization, needs and revenue potential

Assist Regional Sales Managers in meeting or exceeding sales quotas against the territory and account list

Work with cross-functional teams internally to ensure campaign success and growth of partnerships

Utilize Salesforce consistently to accurately record sales activity and deal pipeline

Help develop local marketing initiatives and participate in industry events

Represent Poptent with the highest level of integrity

Qualifications:
This individual must have the ability to work in a dynamic ever-changing work environment and to deliver on deadlines. Must be self-motivated and work well within a team culture. Must be able to expertly create media plan proposals, based on client needs. Requires a demonstrated ability to perform against quota and excel in a highly competitive market. To be successful, this position requires strong new business development skills and must be able to forge strong client relationships. Must be able to deliver on deadlines; work well under pressure; be goal oriented; and a skilled negotiator. Up to 50% travel required, including overnight stays. Must possess a valid driver’s license, maintain current auto insurance and reliable vehicle for transportation. Professional maturity, integrity, discipline and a positive attitude
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field
- 4-6 years interactive sales, (digital, on line, etc.) and 3-5 years proven business-to-business outside sales experience with Fortune 1000 sized accounts
- Digital/video sales experience, with a Network or Publisher is highly preferred
- Excellent track record in developing relationships with advertising agencies and direct advertisers
- Existing, current relationships with media buying decision makers preferred
- Active in industry trade and networking events highly preferred
- Experience selling into marketing and advertising agencies a must.
- Verifiable success selling to C-level executives and multiple levels of decision makers in large complex accounts
- Verifiable proof of quota attainment
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook)
- Ability to travel up to 50% and must possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
