Senior Director, Associate Advocacy
SUMMARY The primary purpose of this position is to ensure all Human Resources investigations throughout the Company including Corporate, Field and Distribution Centers to ensure associates are being treated fairly and consistently to reduce legal fees with class action and EEO compliance. Frequent independent judgments are essential. The incumbent is also required to perform all tasks in a safe manner consistent with corporate policies and applicable laws. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The associate is responsible for the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned: Conduct investigations of reported and/or identified policy violations for Executive level associates through the access of privileged and confidential information and ensure the investigation is conducted meeting all company and regulatory guidelines. Supervise the review and approval of involuntary separation decisions involving investigations through informal departmental audit to ensure company policy and procedure is followed. Implement Associate Emergency Response (EAP) to provide emergency response to acute associate relations issues including threats to associates, customers, or one self to defuse and resolve the threat accordingly. Provide guidance on discipline and separation decisions with business partners and the Human Resources (HR) team to deliver proper corrective action. Supervise the adjudication of background check to ensure we are In compliance with EEOC regulations. Partner with Corporate Human Resources on applicant screening and HR Compliance initiatives to verify compliance with company and regulatory guidelines. Conduct training webinars on various legal topics to educate our field leaders and minimize the company's exposure to legal risks by ensuring that the proper corrective action is being administered and reduce our EEO claims liability against the company. Supervisory Responsibilities This position directly supervises four (4) Senior Manager, Associate Advocacy and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Rite Aid policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, directing, rewarding, and disciplining associates; appraising associate performance; and resolving complaints. Ability to work within strict time frames and resolute deadlines. Ten-key punch speed of 7,000 SPH. Typing speed of 60 WPM. Proficiency with the Microsoft ® Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access). Certificates, Licenses, and/or Registrations This position requires the following: Valid driver's license for business travel Active and current license to practice law Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) required, Master's degree or Law degree is preferred; plus ten (10) years Human Resource experience and four (4) years Law experience is required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
