Senior Director/MD – Americas Valuations Head

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a senior individual to join a major financial services firm due to rapid business growth in North America.

Our client is looking for an experienced and entrepreneurial individual to head the product management of a OTC Valuations service in North America, where they are the leading provider of OTC derivative valuations. The role will involve responsibility for product management and business development in the region and will be highly visible within the organisation.

This position will encompass a huge cross functional responsibility and therefore a diverse skillset will be necessary. You will be involved in quantitative and qualitative analysis, sales/business development, client relationship management, product innovation/development and leadership input for a multi million dollar product in this companies fastest growing marketplace.

Duties and Accountabilities

Leading the Valuations product in North America internally and externally, reporting directly to the Global Head.

Working closely with the Sales team in the region to identify and win new clients, and with the Quant, Product Specialist and Product Services teams to provide valuation solutions for clients.

Driving the continued expansion of the division in North America and achieving penetration in newer product offerings such as scenario and risk analysis and private equity valuations.

Providing input into the product development roadmap and prioritisation, based on local client needs and industry developments.

Understanding regulatory changes in North America and their impact on the valuation space, and making recommendations on how the product should evolve accordingly.

Working with senior management on planning, budgeting and business strategy, to ensure that needs within the region are taken into account.

Participating in management forums, in matters of organisation, global strategy and business performance.

Mapping the competitive landscape within the valuation space in the region and formulating strategy for client penetration and diversification.

Qualifications and experience

Extensive track record in the pricing of vanilla and exotic OTC derivatives, ideally across several asset classes.

Good degree in a numerical discipline from a highly regarded university, ideally followed by a Masters, PhD or MBA.

Strong understanding of OTC derivative trading, market conventions and data, and key industry players.

Excellent grasp of standard derivatives pricing models and methodologies.

Sound grasp of the regulatory framework for OTC derivatives in the US and ongoing regulatory changes in the region.

Strong contacts within buy-side institutions across North America, in particular within trading, product control, risk and senior management.

Familiarity with the pricing of non-derivative instruments such as cash products, structured notes or private equity would be helpful.

Any prior exposure to risk management and standard risk-related measures (e.g. VaR, PFE, CVA, DVA, FVA) would be useful
