Your opportunity
People, within and outside TomTom, using tools and services owned by the Content Production Unit need to understand how and when to use those tools and services and should also be assessed if their skills are sufficient to use them. The Documentation and Training Developer is responsible to create, maintain, moderate and publish documentation and training material and to keep the information in the following frameworks up to date:
* Documentation Training Content framework
To allow people in the Content Production Unit to create, maintain and access documentation and training material
* Documentation Training Publishing framework
To allow people to publish documentation and training material to make it accessible to all necessary team members in the Content Production Unit
* Competence management framework
Keep track of skills and gaps of all people involved in the Content Production Unit mapping process.
Create and maintain documentation and training material
A senior Documentation Training Developer is a professional writer who designs, creates and maintains the documentation and training material that enable the end user to get trained and to execute the required Content Production Processes in a correct manner. The documentation and training material can cover the complete end-to-end process, starting from the different sources until the different products.
All products of the senior Documentation Training Developer employ clear language and effective instructional methods to help end users understand difficult technical processes.
Maintain Documentation Training Content framework.
Includes user management, scanning for unused material, etc.
Maintain Documentation Training Publishing framework.
Includes user management, scanning for unused material, etc.
Maintain Competence Management framework
Documentation and Training material support
Moderation, peer review and mentoring fellow documentation and training developers
Publishing and releasing Documentation Training material towards the organization.
Adopt new documentation training techniques
Your profile
- Bachelor's degree in either a scientific or engineering field or in English, journalism, or a degree in instructional design as an acceptable qualification
- Atleast 5 years of experience
Excellent knowledge of English
- Technical writing skills, writing clear communication
- Advanced experience with web publishing
- Advanced knowledge of documentation and training formats (HTML, PDF, Flash, HTML, XML, etc.)
- Advanced knowledge of training methods and tools (eg Adobe, RoboHelp, Dreamweaver, Captivate, MS Office, etc.)
- Capability of translating complex, technical processes into easy and entertaining documentation and training material
- Capable in working in a global environment
- Advanced knowledge about User Experience Design (UXD)
- Advanced knowledge about I-mapping
- Advanced knowledge about Graphical Design
- Advanced knowledge about technical illustration capabilities
- Advanced knowledge about multi media techniques (audio, video, )
- Advanced knowledge about Content Production Specifications
- Advanced knowledge about Content Production Process knowledge
