Chevron's Appalachian and Michigan Business Unit (AMBU) is accepting online applications for Drilling Engineer positions that will be responsible for planning onshore development wells in the Northeastern United States. AMBU manages Chevron's onshore shale gas assets in the Marcellus Shale area and is headquartered in Moon Township, Pennsylvania (suburb of Pittsburgh).
Drilling engineers work as part of a functional group that supports asset teams. The position is responsible for performing technical drilling engineering for well design, cost estimates, project planning, operations support and review of rig requirements. The Drilling Engineer develops the drilling programs and procedures, including endorsement and approvals. Selected candidates will participate in field reviews, peer reviews, optimization studies, and gather local operational knowledge/experience. The Engineer will apply Capital Stewardship principles, Decision Analysis, Risk Assessment and Drilling Engineering practices. Drilling engineers are expected to be active members of Chevron's Global DC Networks and Communities of Practice in order to capture and share lessons learned and best practices with the work group and global DC community.
