Senior EEG Tech - Epilepsy

Located in downtown Orlando, Florida Hospital Orlando is the main Florida Hospital campus in Central Florida and uses the latest technology to treat more than 126,000 inpatients and 53,600 outpatients annually. About our Program:
The Florida Hospital Neuroscience Institute and the Walt Disney Pavilion at Florida Hospital for Children invite you to be a part of our innovative, patient-centered epilepsy program.  We are looking for highly motivated and skilled EEG techs who want the opportunity to grow and expand in the field of neurodiagnostics.  Our program is led by nationally recognized leaders in the field of epilepsy and we use leading diagnostic imaging technology, advanced medical therapies, and surgical innovations to treat, cure, and restore families impacted by epilepsy.

 

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Performs quality EEG, seizure monitoring, and evoked potential recordings, nerve conductions velocities, and intraoperative monitoring.  Has the ability to scan, correlate, and clip study information.  Facilitates all aspects of study completion and reporting. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.  Is knowledgeable in and carries out all applicable processes of the department.  Assumes responsibility for designated areas or procedures.  Teaches and directs the work of other staff and students as required.  Participates in the Florida Hospital performance improvement program.  Performs additional duties as requested. 

 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

·BLS upon hire or within 90 days.  CPR skills check biennially.

·Ability to perform quality EEG, NCV, Evoked, and IOM procedures.

·Ability to assess equipment functionality.

·Must be able to function independently with little or no supervision.

·Ability to observe tracings and respond appropriately to noted activity.

·Communicates effectively.

·Recognizes artifact and reapplies or replaces appropriate electrode(s).

·Possesses excellent customer service skills.

·Ability to scan, correlate, and clip studies.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

·Graduation from an electro-neurodiagnostic program.

·Minimum three years EEG experience.

 

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

·EEG experience on Nihon Kohden or XLTEK™ equipment and software

·Computer skills, including Microsoft® Office applications

·Epilepsy Surgery Seizure monitoring experience

 

 

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:

·ABRET (American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists) registration

· Electroencephalography

·Evoked potentials

·Nerve conductions

·Clinical Long Term Monitoring

·Clinical Neurophysiologic Intraoperative Monitoring
