SUMMARY OVERVIEW
Understand and master technologies specific to area of competence. Convey technical solutions for areas of competence both to other engineers and to business personnel. Work with engineering team to develop final product solution for chosen architecture within time and cost constraints.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Support the Development and utilization of processes for Electrical Hardware requirement analysis and documentation, Design documentation and requirements management.
• Provide Document Control with a complete design package consisting of requirements and design documentation, schematics, BOM’s, vendor lists, and conceptual packaging and assembly drawings prior to production launch.
• Provide mentoring to team in supporting and driving appropriate design processes.
• Lead and participate in all elements of design engineering including design reviews and design verification.
• Support management in identifying internal and external resources to support product development.
• Ensure that the engineering department design flow processes and procedures are followed.
• Provide leadership in identification and mitigation of technical project risks, technical and integration dependencies affecting overall project plans and schedules.
• Work concurrently with Jabil CAD Services, Business Unit Management, Manufacturing, Test, Purchasing, and Quality departments through the design phase of a program. Work to provide a design that not only meets the customer’s criteria, but is also of high quality, cost effective, and manufacturable
• Support production discrepancies by incorporating fixes into subsequent revisions in a timely manner.
• Responsible for directing Design Engineers and Technicians on associated project.
• Oversee assembly and test of engineering prototypes.
• Assigned to projects of diverse scope, where analysis of situation or data requires an evaluation of identifiable factors.
• Stay abreast of the latest technology and techniques to provide designs that are competitive and cost effective.
• Comply and follow all procedures within the company security and safety policies.
TECHNICAL SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
• At least six (6) years of electronics experience taking board level products successfully from design to production in audio and video consumer electronics.
• Experience with high speed microprocessors and interfaces such as DDR, PCI, USB, Serial Interfaces, Fiber Channel, etc.
• Experience in high speed circuit board design, design for manufacturability, and able to perform timing analysis for logic design.
• FPGA and CPLD design experience using VHDL.
• Knowledge of solving signal integrity issues for high-speed, high performance systems. Experience in high speed backplane design, and in SPICE simulation.
• Understanding of board layout EMI suppression techniques.
• Electrical verification of PCB product integration.
• Experience in Orcad and Mentor is preferred.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s of Science in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering. Six to eight (6-8) years experience in designing Electronic systems for commercialization.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, presentation materials, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
