Senior Electronic Data Interchange Engineer Job in Hilversum (Near Amsterdam) 1223 Ev, Noord Holland Netherlands
Nike does more than outfit the world’s best athletes. We are a place to explore potential, obliterate boundaries, and push out the edges of what can be. We’re looking for people who can grow, think, dream and create. Every employee brings inspiration and innovation to our business and we seek achievers, leaders and visionaries.
The team
The Electronic Data Interchange team is part of the IT Development team at Nike's European headquarters. With a diverse group of professionals from 7 different nationalities we are responsible for building and maintaining new capabilities which our core systems cannot support. The two main focus areas within the team are Application Engineering and Electronic Data Interchange. Within the Electronic Data Interchange team the main focus is on maintaining and further rolling out Electronic Data Interchange capabilities with our Tier 1 customers and vendors. The two key areas that we support are Order2Cash (integration with our customers), and Logistics (integration with our warehouses).
The IT Development team is part of the Lean Business Solutions organization, which caters to the need of the business by providing Portfolio governance, Project management, Lean coaching, IT Wholesale Retail solutions and Infrastructure Services support.
Responsibilities
At the moment we're looking to reinforce the Electronic Data Interchange team with a Senior Electronic Data InterchangeEngineer. Over the past decade or so we've increased the number of EDI links we have in place a hundredfold, and we still have countless customers that would like to deal with Nike electronically.
A large part of your job would be to work with our customers and business counterparts on setting up new Order2Cash links (PRICAT, ORDERS, ORDRSP, DESADV and INVOIC). This would start by analyzing the customer's requirements, see how they fit with Nike's business processes, and testing and implementing the different EDI links. You will be involved in the projects from start to finish, and communicating with all teams involved: Account Operations, the Customer, Finance, Customer Operations, the Project Manager, etc. Because of this, professional communication skills and the need to tailor communication to the intended audience are very important.
Besides implementing new links approximately 20% of the time will be spent on supporting existing links.
The team also supports all links between Nike and the 3rd party warehouses we employ in Europe. A good understanding of the general logistics process is needed for this, including both the inbound and outbound logistics processes.
A solid technical background is also a must-have. Preferably this includes good Unix knowledge, some Business Process Modeling, and experience with Gentran Integration Suite or similar EDI systems.
Requirements
6+ years of working with Electronic Data Interchange
Solid EDIFACT X.12 knowledge
A good understanding of the Order2Cash and/or Logistical processes.
Basic SAP navigation
Experience with GIS / SI or similar Electronic Data Interchange platforms
Solid communication skills
