Senior Emissions Originator – London recruitment
Global commodities trading house are actively seeking a senior emissions originator with substantial experience in originating carbon credits in the primary market. The firm are looking to manage their exposure from a compliance perspective and also originate CERs for proprietary trading. As such it is expected that the person in this position will have a strong background in generating CDM projects, ideally within a trading environment where they have experience liaising with traders.
You will be joining one of the major participants in the European carbon market, and join the firm at a time where they are rapidly expanding their trading and structuring activities. Initially this will be to join a team of five, but as the company is planning substantial expansion it is expected that this team will continue to grow in the next few years. You will need to set the carbon origination strategy, and be able to bring a strong knowledge of opportunities in the current market from proposed projects through to completed projects that are already producing CER certificates. A strong knowledge of the EU-ETS is a prerequisite, and ideally you will be used to working with traders to optimise a carbon position.
