Senior Employment Lawyer – Six Month Max Term Contract recruitment

Within Human Resources (HR) the opportunity for a Senior Employment Lawyer is now available and applications are invited from professionals able to commit to this six months max term contract engagement. Reporting to the Head of Employee Relations, Legal, this key role will see you providing legal support to HR's Employee Relations (ER) teams as well as to its internal client base.
In this role you will be responsible for:
- advising management with respect to relevant employment legislation and HR practices.
- delivering key HR transactions including new business acquisitions.
- interpreting and implementing HR policies.
- providing advice on practical people management and employment related issues (eg. restructuring, performance management).
- providing a compliance framework and co-ordinating reviews and/or action as required.
- monitoring current compliance procedures and frameworks.
- providing compliance, consulting and operational support where required.
- co-ordinating employee relations training and ensuring regional compliance.
- performing management and investigatory work relating to EEO, harassment and discrimination claims.
- providing transactional Employee Relations (ER) services direct to business management such as performance management, terminations, restructures, mergers acquisitions
- managing and coaching of junior compliance professionals
- managing and briefing of external legal counsel.
- providing advice and training re legal developments in the employee relations space
- negotiating with external service providers and advising on service agreements
You will:
- be admitted as a lawyer, with at least four years post admission experience
- have gained relevant experience to date in a comparable role and where managing and coaching a team has been a requirement
- be time managed, flexible and adaptable, motivated and self-directed
- enjoy working and contributing in a team environment; taking responsibility for managing your own workload yet sharing workloads when needed
- demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills, be able to build relationships at all levels and confident to delegate work to ensure timelines are met
- exercise judgement and discretion when dealing with confidential and sensitive material
