Job Description:
Our Senior Energy Engineers conduct facility site visits, analyze current situation and produce facility improvement measures plans. Assist sales and operations in the development, procurement and execution of performance contracts. Perform and supervise preliminary and detailed facility audits to identify facility improvement measures (FIMS) and/or opportunities. Coordinate and lead facility site visits and communicate with outside vendors as it pertains to FIMS. Assist sales in identification and qualification of potential performance contracting projects. Lead or assist in the development of preliminary and final performance contracting proposals. Analyze blue prints and performs site surveys to identify mechanical, electrical, and control systems and determine facility operational characteristics. Apply building energy simulation programs to develop energy, cooling, and heating load-building models using modeling software. Develop design concepts and other written documentation to sales and management concerning recommended FIMS, including accurate descriptions, savings potential, cost estimates and back up data to verify FIMS. Prepare financial models related to payment including an understanding of ROI, life cycle costing and internal rate of return. Participate in client meetings and presentations. Understand and evaluate energy supply side saving opportunities, trash management, water conservation, and co-generation for inclusion into performance contracts. Create performance assurance plans and assist with performance contracting contracts. Monitor project performance particularly those that guarantee savings.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or other related field is required. Master's degree preferred. 3 years experience in Engineering; 5-10 years energy experience. Engineering experience developing or supporting performance based projects and/or energy services. Certified Energy Manager (CEM), LEED, Professional Engineer (P.E.) and/or a state Engineer in Training (EIT) certifications are desired. Strong verbal and written presentation skills are required.
