Eaton's Energy Solutions group has an opening for a Senior Energy Engineer to be located in New York, NY. Position will be responsible for conducting facility site visits, performing energy engineering, energy audits, and provide energy consulting services to identify energy conservation opportunities at customer facilities. Identify and calculate the impact of energy conservation opportunities/measures (ECO/ECMs) - and as required assist with proposal technical input and narratives. - Perform Energy Audits at customer locations, leveraging personal work experience, tools, and education to identify and develop energy efficiency and conservation solutions. Energy Conservation Opportunities (ECOs) could include: lighting systems and controls, space conditioning systems and controls, refrigeration systems and controls, whole building and building systems energy simulation, mechanical controls, electrical controls, industrial processes, demand response technologies and/or water/waste water systems. - Identify and evaluate energy efficiency and energy conservation measures (ECOs) through energy audits and data review (mechanical, architectural, electrical). Includes all energy sources and systems. - Identify applicable improvement measures aimed at reducing client's energy consumption and cost (electricity, gas, water, sewer, fuel, other). Includes technology, OM, and behavioral (people/energy culture) type solutions and recommendations. - Serve as a resource to other engineers on topics which could include HVAC configuration and performance, energy modeling, data logging, controls and energy management control systems, lighting and daylighting design, sustainable design and LEED certification, measurement and verification (MV), and energy auditing. - Meet with both technical and non-technical clients. Lead discussions regarding energy management planning, energy efficiency, or sustainable design solutions in whole building and individual building system (mechanical, electrical, controls) context. - Be skilled in using one or more energy modeling tools or applications to develop various solution scenarios for review and utilization in report and/or submittals for client consideration. - Be involved and/or assist others in the project development of Energy Conservation projects. - Assist with the development of new processes and tools that will enable the Energy Solutions team to be more efficient and/or add more value to our clients and mentor junior engineers. - Work with and interpret as required software simulation programs such as: eQUEST, Carrier HAP, Trane TRACE, and/or Data Center Pro or similar applications. - Develop working relationships with the customer to foster the implementation of ECOs. POSITION CRITERIA: - Demonstrated ability to gather, understand, integrate, and synthesize complex information in order to develop innovative solutions, make recommendations, or propose action plans. - Must demonstrate the ability to integrate work across relevant areas, develop the business and services to enhance customer satisfaction and productivity, manage risks and safety appropriately, develop and execute business plans, manage information, and provide exceptional service to internal and external customers. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: -PE License, EIT or FE or the interest to obtain a PE is strongly preferred. -5 years of progressive energy engineering experience performing energy engineering, energy audits and design of building systems and/or energy efficiency measures. - Strong engineering knowledge of several of the following: lighting systems and controls, refrigeration systems and controls, whole building and whole building systems, DDC/pneumatic controls, mechanical controls, electrical controls, industrial processes, and/or water/waste water systems, and/or building envelope. - Certified Energy Manager (CEM) strongly preferred. - Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills. - Must be highly proficient with a PC including the Microsoft Applications. Direct experience with Energy Models is a plus. - Direct building commissioning experience (Cx or rCx) a plus. - Willingness to travel up to 60% to customer sites for audits, weekends normally home. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: - Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution - Minimum 5 years experience performing energy engineering and energy audits of building systems. - Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
