Profession Engineering Department Code E204 Purpose This position is for a senior engineer role for a critical, high-visibility DISA customer. The candidate will work closely with the government sponsor to define and develop the sponsor's future communications capabilities and architecture. Security Clearance Level SCI Key Functions As the senior engineer for a critical, high- visibility DISA customer, you will work closely with the sponsor organization to shape their technology investment strategy. As part of the strategic planning team, you will lead the effort to: " Develop the customer's long-term technology vision and plans for technology migration/insertion. " Evaluate emerging technologies that have potential application to the customer's mission. " Ensure common technological approaches across the customer's systems, projects, and future investments. " Work with DISA and appropriate OSD offices to coordinate common technology approaches and mission alignment with other organizations that support DoD's strategy for modernization and transformation. " Work with DISA and appropriate OSD offices to ensure funding for future technology initiatives. " Assist in business case analysis of candidate investments, in line with the future technical architecture. Required Education/Experience: BS and 3 years experience or MS Desired Education/Experience BS with 6 years or MS with 4 years experience in commercial or DoD communications and/or information systems technology. Required Skills: Broad knowledge of commercial and DoD communications and information technologies; understanding of DoD planning and acquisition processes; ability to collaborate with government and industry technology experts; strong project management, writing and customer experience skills; flexibility,adaptability, and the ability to work in a dynamic, high-profile environment. Desired Skills Understanding of the DoD 5000; experience in enterprise engineering and working knowledge of enterprise architecture concepts, methods, and tools. Travel Statement This position will require local Washington DC metropolitan area travel and occasional CONUS travel. Clearance Statement *Only candidates who possess the required security clearance will be considered. Candidates who have successfully undergone suitability screening for Presidential Support Duty (PSD) are strongly preferred, although candidates will be considered if they have an SSBI complete in the last 36 months, have a TS clearance done in the last 48 months, and can pass a PSD pre-screening interview process. Applicants selected for this position will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility equirements for access to classified information. Only US citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
