SENIOR ESTIMATOR
Our client, an EPCM firm with a world class reputation is seeking a new Senior Estimator. Their areas of work include feasibility studies and EPCM projects of mining process plants and associated infrastructure, including green-field development and brown-field and expansions. The Mining and Metallurgy group is looking for a seasoned estimator that can develop complete construction estimates but also has the experience and capability to develop estimates for feasibility and pre-feasibility studies.
Responsibilities
- Prepare estimating plans and basis of estimate documents
- Collate MTOs from discipline engineers
- Assist in obtaining prices for materials and equipment
- Review, analyze and check for completeness of bid/proposal documents
Prepare indirect estimates - Conduct pre-tender site visits and report
- Work with design-build teams to develop best solutions and price comparisons
- Assist with preparation of preliminary construction schedules
- Assist in preparing project risk analysis
- Assist with preparing invitations to tender
- Assist with tender/proposal closing
- Maintain records of bid/proposal documents
- Attend project start up meetings
- Train Junior Estimators
Qualifications
- A minimum of 10 years experience as an estimator on mining and metallurgy projects
- Ability to handle large-scale projects ($100 million to several billions)
- Advanced knowledge of estimating techniques and cost control
- Advance knowledge and experience with computer estimating software
- Post-Secondary education
- Experience preparing bids on public and private sector work
- Willing to travel to job sites as required
