Senior Euro area economist for Nordea Markets
Senior Analyst
The position is in the Global Macro Strategy team and we have staffing in Copenhagen, Stockholm, Oslo and Helsinki. We are looking for a senior person to cover the Euro area economies focusing on the macro side.
You will be responsible for the overall analysis and views of Nordea when it comes to the ECB and the euro area economies. You will have the task of communicating this view to Nordea’s customers, traders and reporters.
You’ll be part of a 20 people strong team covering global financial markets and economies. We offer good opportunities to work independently and in teams with a broad range of assignments in an international and dynamic work environment. We have a very flat organization and a very open communication form.
You are not afraid of taking a clear stance on key issues based on your analysis, and you must be able to get your key points across to customers and colleagues in a short and concise manner, both verbally and in written form.

Be aim to produce first-rate analysis of international macroeconomic issues that can provide value added to our customers and identify potential trading opportunities, securing great customer experiences.
Economics, applied econometrics, finance and excellent writing skills
You have a Masters degree or a Ph.D. in economics or finance with strong results. Moreover, you have at least five years post graduate experience in the financial sector and work experience within the Eurosystem is an added advantage.
You are committed and responsible. You are passionate about financial markets and cannot wait to explain and tell others how you see the current market environment and future development. You are driven and set high standards for yourself but at the same time understand the importance of being a team player. You have excellent communication skills and you are comfortable with verbal communication in a demanding and fast paced environment. Professional proficiency in English is a must and knowledge of a Nordic language is a plus but no pre-requisite.

Global Macro Strategy is part of Nordea Markets’ Global Research unit. Being situated on the trading floor we interact constantly with the sales and trading units, apart from working closely with other parts of the research department.
