Senior Executive

Ernst and Young's Economic Advisory team of over 35 economists is now looking to expand on its existing economics practice to capture exciting opportunities, particularly within the Power and Utility sectors. As a result, we are looking to recruit an experienced economist at Senior Executive (Manager) level.

Ernst Young's Economics Advisory team combines deep sector knowledge with strong technical skills in economics, econometrics and quantitative analysis to address key issues in strategy, regulation, competition, planning, valuation and government policy.

Your responsibilities as a Senior Executive will include:

- Helping our clients to understand market trends, to evaluate the effects of new regulation and policy

- Dealing confidently with partners and client staff and building credibility for the firm

- Building relationships with clients and Ernst Young teams that reflect credibly on the team

- Recognising opportunities to contribute to client issues when they arise

- Managing junior members of project teams

- Delivering to demanding deadlines maintaining the discipline and quality of output.

Qualifications/skills you'll need as a Senior Executive:

- Experience as economist/corporate planner in the power and utilities industries employed in the

private, regulatory or the public policy sector

- Highly numerate and analytical Master-level Economics graduate

- Strong academic and professional background in Economics, Business or Industrial Economics or Econometrics

- Experience of competition and regulatory economics, strategy, business planning, costing and pricing

- Experience of applying economic theory to the development and evaluation of public and regulatory policy

- Experience of economic impact assessment

- A logical and rational approach to complex problem solving.
