Senior / Expert Internal Auditor (m/f) recruitment

Your new duties and responsibilities
Group Audit supports the Board of Management and the Audit Committee of Allianz SE in the supervision and assessment of the Internal Control System of the Group. Furthermore, we coordinate local Internal Audit functions spread across more than 50 Operating Entities throughout the Allianz Group.
We are currently looking for Senior / Expert Auditors to join our team at Allianz SE in Munich, who will be responsible for conducting audits in accordance with the Allianz Group Audit Policies and Minimum Standards, more precisely:
- Complete the annual audit plans according to high quality and professional standards, to the set deadlines and priorities, as well as within budget;
- Recommend feasible measures to improve the company’s risk situation, internal control system and efficiency by identifying, assessing and communicating shortcomings;
- Monitor the implementation process of the agreed remediation action plans;
- Provide input to the risk-oriented planning and update of the annual audit plan;
- Develop effective business relationships and encourage knowledge sharing within the Allianz Audit Community, in order to contribute to the continuous improvement of audit processes and methodologies, as well as identify and promote best practices;
- Promoting the Audit function internally as a competent partner, by ensuring thorough, efficient and service-oriented execution of the tasks, assessing through unquestionable independence and professionalism of judgment, as well as providing business oriented audit recommendations.
More senior candidates will also be expected to:
- Effectively lead a team in planning, managing and executing Audit engagements, within a risk based environment and in an efficient and effective manner;
- Act as a role model and mentor for less experienced members of the team, provide on the job training and develop talented team members.
Required qualifications and experience
Qualifications
- Excellent university degree in economics, business studies or similar
- Professional Certification; full membership of an internationally recognized professional accounting association (ACA, ACCA or CPA) and/or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) credentials is preferred
- Fluency in English. German as well as other language skills would be advantageous
Experience
- Around five years experience in a related auditing function; internal, external or as a consultant
- Good knowledge of financial reporting as well as auditing standards, practices and techniques (including risk assessment, audit scoping, devising audit approach, controls testing, substantive audit testing including sampling techniques)
- Several years of experience in Life Insurance would be advantageous, including product design and pricing and/or loss reserving and future policy benefits and/or underwriting and business processes
- High level of risk awareness and control mindset; excellent capability of assessing risks
- Capacity to quickly comprehend, analyse, challenge and make recommendations
- Excellent communication skills and a strong focus on client orientation
- Experience of working in an international environment
- Flexibility to travel
