Job Title: Senior Finance Manager
Classification: Exempt
Reports to: Executive Vice President/General Manager
The role of the Senior Finance Manager (SFM) will be to provide oversight and expertise regarding accounting, financial reporting, and coordination of audit activities with accounting, capital reporting, budgeting and billing/expense allocation. In addition, the SFM will apply principles of accounting to analyze past and present financial operations and forecast future revenues and expenditures to prepare budget.
Key Accountabilities:
- Full ownership of financial analysis and reporting; strategically forecasting short and long-term company budget;
- Manage accounts receivable process, including preparing and processing customer invoices , tracking payments and monitoring delinquent balances;
- Manage accounts payable process including, processing vendor invoices and inquiries; employee expense reimbursements and travel expenses; and wire transfers;
- Manage petty cashaccount;
- Monthly closing of accounts including, preparing journal entries, general ledger analysis and bank reconciliation;
- Preparing monthly internal financial statements including, Profit and loss, balance sheet and budget vs actual analysis;
- Reconcile American Express account
- Develop budgets, staffing plans and manage overall costs associated with client specific activity.
- Aggressively pursues new ways to enhancing overall agency profitability.
- Establishes, or recommends economic objectives and policies based on agency activities.
- Work closely with Human Resources on management of payroll.
- Work with the Account Management teams on client budgets.
- Communicate monthly with clients regarding budget, billing and accounts receivable issues.
- Lead on client monthly billing
- Maintain knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), statutory accounting principles, and other relevant accounting processes and guidelines.
- Responsible for and management of Tax Compliance.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in demonstrated financial, analytical and accounting functions.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance or Business preferred. CPA designation preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills (excellent communication skills both written and oral)
- Strong problem solving skills, and detail oriented
- Ability to work in an independent manner.
- Knowledge of principles and practices of financial record keeping.
- Perform a variety of processing/record keeping clerical functions.
- Perform mathematical calculations with speed and accuracy.
- Transfer/post financial data accurately.
- Verify and code financial statements, invoices, and reports as assigned.
- Establish and maintain effective work relationships with those contacted in the performance of required duties.
