Senior Finance Professional

The newly formed Wholesale Operations and Accounting Control team has been set-up as a result of the End to End Health check project which identified a number of control risks.
This role is in the Trade Settlement Control team which operates within the greater Wholesale Operations and Accounting Control team.
The Trade Settlement Control Team was established as a result of identification of a number of weaknesses in existing financial controls framework post the Alliance and Leicester migration.
A key control in the overall control framework is the control and reconciliation of trade settlements including, external, inter-group, inter-entity and intra entity.
As a Senior Finance Professional your main responsibilities will involve:
- Oversight of the Nostro reconciliations covering both external and inter group / inter entity settlements.
- Reconciliation of intra entity settlements.
- Reconciliation of Funding Hub Control accounts.
- Confirmation of control accounts with other subsidiaries.
- Reconciliation of Wash account.
- Reconciliation of Nostros and investigation of breaks
As a Senior Finance Professional your skills and qualifications will ideally include:
- 2:1 degree or equivalent together with excellent GCSE A-Level grades, (In an analytical Degree such as accounting, finance or economics)
- Accounting and/ or Finance background
- Full / Part Qualified Accountant
- Good analytical skills and attention to detail, being able to draw succinct and meaningful conclusions and make value-adding recommendations
- Experience of working in a Treasury Finance function.
- Good understanding of Principles and Accounting of Treasury Products.
- Experience of operating reconciliations and control.
- Good understanding of balance sheet and PL controls.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel Skills.
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral. Requiring confidence to challenge business processes and information where appropriate.
- Highly motivated individual with ability to work autonomously, exercising personal judgment effectively and referring matters where appropriate
- Front office system experience
- Trade matching systems knowledge
Location: Portman House, London
Salary: £40,000-£45,000
