The Munich based Accounting team is looking for a Senior Financial Accountant. Your Responsibilities:
- Own the monthly, quarterly and year end closing for selected accounts and processes and support reviews of the financial statements (Balance Sheet and Income Statement) including deep analysis and balance sheet commentary
- Own the preparation and review of Balance Sheet account reconciliations whilst ensuring the highest standards of controllership and alignment with accounting policies and requirements
- Work closely with business partners globally to identify and implement opportunities for building a robust, scalable accounting and accrual process and ensure global consistency and efficiency.
- Drive projects as a trusted business partner who can successfully launch initiatives that meet ongoing reporting and controllership requirements. Provide accounting expertise and judgment. Conclude the implementation of accounting framework and end-to-end testing prior to launching the initiative.
- Drive improvements of accounting processes and internal workflows. Utilize and apply knowledge of multiple reporting systems to deliver solutions. This requires advanced computer literacy and the aptitude to understand systems dependencies and work with large database structures.
Basic qualifications:
- Master degree in accounting and finance or comparable education
- Minimum 5 years of working experience in relevant position
- Strong accounting knowledge (German-GAAP and/or US - GAAP knowledge preferable)
- Extraordinary ability of understanding complex accounting structures and strong analytical expertise
- Convincing personality and independent way to work
- Great attention to detail and mature attitude
- Flexible outlook and able to deal with change
- Effective interpersonal skills including persuasive written and oral communication
- Interest in thinking outside the box as well as new and big tasks and challenges
- Entrepreneurial, pro-active can-do attitude
- Very good Microsoft Excel and Outlook skills
- Fluency in German and English (spoken and written)
- International experience would be of advantage, but is not essential
