Summary Description:
•The AVP- Senior Financial Analyst position will be responsible for providing business analytics and financial analysis support to SSgA's North American business as well as SSgA's Global Product Support and strategic planning team. Incumbents have a background in financial analysis, typically acquired through five or more years of related experience in the financial services industry. The position requires excellent analytical, research and financial modeling ability coupled with strong communication and presentation skills. The desired candidate will be a forward thinker with future leadership potential.

•As a key member of the Finance team the successful candidate will be capable of conducting themselves in a professional manner and be comfortable interfacing with Senior Management both within the Finance team and the line of business. Client satisfaction and support is a top priority. The position is a key hire as SSgA Finance seeks to build-out its Financial Planning and Analysis capabilities.

Job Responsibilities:
•Provide financial planning and analysis support to the North American Business and Global Product Marketing Organization - includes monthly variance analysis, key metric analysis and measurement and articulation of key business performance trends.
•Assist in the preparation of periodic management information reports that assist Senior Management in understanding the performance of their business and facilitate business decision making.
•Assist in the budget and forecasting processes including liaising with business managers.
•Ad hoc reporting and special projects as assigned - will include providing financial modeling, analysis, preparation of executive communications as well as providing support for SSgA's acquisition research and activities.
•Assist the Global Product Support team in various pricing and product profitability projects and reporting requirements.
•Assist SSgA Finance in building a culture of continuous improvement - critically examine and assess existing financial analysis practices and suggest improvements wherever necessary.
•Assist in building a strong and cohesive Team environment, providing leadership and mentoring to peers and junior members of the Finance team.

Skills

•5 to 7 years experience in financial and business analysis, preferrably in an asset management firm;
•MBA, CFA or CPA preferred although not required;
•Detail oriented with strong financial modeling skills and analytical capabilities;
•Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to interact with senior management;
•Track record in displaying an exceptional standard of quality, this involves attention to detail, organization, thoughtful analysis and problem solving and accountability for excellent results;
•Ability to maintain confidential and/or sensitive information;
•Candidate needs to be a strong team player, self-starter who approaches work enthusiastically, demonstrates initiative and has the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
•Experience with Khalix, Cognos, Oracle and Essbase a plus;
•Proficient with MS Office Suite as advanced Excel analysis skills and Powerpoint development skills are critical to success in the role.
