Job Functions - Financial analysis and Reporting: Analyze and report monthly results of gross profit margin and contribution for engine parts business; prepare consolidated engine profitability analysis across business units and legal entities ; provide financial support for recording and reporting Aftermarket Service Department training and publication revenue. Ensure proper accounting treatment of engine parts transactions, including reversals for parts warranty and become subject matter expert on accounting treatment for parts warranty; ensure provision balance is accurately stated for excess and obsolete inventory; support Parts Marketing with analysis of engine parts warranty usage and pricing initiatives. Ensure Aftermarket business model is supported by IT systems; assist in development and implementation of process and IT systems changes as required by business model realignment; perform ad hoc financial analysis as requested. Product Cost and Transfer Pricing: Coordinate with Powertrain and affiliated business units projected parts demand; analyze product cost development for affiliated-made parts and ensure changes are communicated to Parts Marketing in a timely manner; maintain lines of communication to facilitate transparency. Lead and coordinate periodic transfer pricing updates with affiliated suppliers and calculate transfer prices for new products; coordinate resolution of transfer pricing discrepancies with Purchasing, Accounts Payable, and affiliated suppliers. Warranty: Lead analysis of warranty costs for coverages for aftermarket parts, remanufactured engines, and parts overhaul kits; review and communicate cost projections to business units, accounting, and auditors. Conduct quarterly review of warranty provision and ensure provision is properly stated for aftermarket parts, remanufactured engines, and overhaul kits; calculate monthly warranty provision accruals. Basic Qualifications - A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field with 2 years of related experience OR an Associate's degree with 4 years of related experience OR 8 years of related Daimler experience AND 1 year of group leader, project lead, or mentoring experience is required. Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, as well as financial analysis and reporting is required. Excellent written and oral communication skills are required. Strong analytical and organizational skills are required. Flexibility with ability to change direction and priority in a fast paced environment is required. At least six years of experience in financial analysis, public or manufacturing accounting environment is preferred. Proficiency in MS Access is preferred. Working experience with SAP, Cognos, Hyperion, Oracle Discoverer and/or other query tools is preferred. Previous experience in working with a multi-national, multi-entity organization is preferred.
