Senior Financial Analyst Job in Pasadena, California Us
A SENIOR FINANCIAL ANALYST position supporting the KPIT Heath Plan Hospital Operations (HPHO) organization is available at our Pasadena, CA campus.
This position supports the processes that produce the strategic financial plan, annual budgets, quarterly cost center forecasts, and monthly reporting and analysis of results related to KPIT's HPHO organization and associated project/investment activity. You will perform cost center and project budgeting, forecasting and long range financial planning, variance analysis and reporting, interpretation of quantitative information, financial modeling and creating presentations for upper management review and key decision support. You will work with internal teams and KP-IT business partners to understand the various business needs and drivers and report them in a clear and concise manner.
Essential Functions:
- Initiates investigation of budget variances, cost trends and utilization patterns and performs analysis.
- Develop and produce analysis/reports for investment activity (projects).
- Ability to support, analyze and summarize monthly and quarterly forecasting.
- Understanding of the practices and processes in place regarding various funding sources and allocation methodologies.
- Ability to research and analyze data from variety of sources. Prepare and present results of analysis, including assumptions and recommendations.
- Operational knowledge and proficiency in various finance and project management tools, including RPM/NIKU, Ariba/OneLink, Business Objects, Cognos, Microsoft Office Suite products.
- Understanding of general accounting policies and procedures, including capitalization processes and practices.
- Ability to present and interact with various levels of staff/management during Accounting and Project Review meetings.
- Ability to complete complex assignments requiring independent action, and a high degree of initiative to resolve issues with consistency and accuracy.
- Provide ongoing guidance, support and interpretation of Finance/Accounting SOP to various levels of staff, specifically related to investment activity.
- Works autonomously and collaboratively with project teams and clients.
- Identifies operational impact of analytical findings.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting and/or 4 years of equivalent work experience.
- A minimum of 5 years experience in financial planning and analysis.
- Knowledge of finance theories and accounting principles.
- Able to formulate finance study designs and prepare and conduct professional presentations.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite Products
- Strong oral, written and presentation communication skills.
- Strong facilitation skills.
- Works under limited guidance; accountable to complete work assignments.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficient in a variety of finance and project management tools, including Cognos, Business Objects, RPM/NIKU
- Strong analytic and problem solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to keep track of communications with multiple clients simultaneously.
- Strong understanding of fundamental accounting transaction flows, including system interfaces.
