Liaison between Finance and Mail
Operations Strategy. Supports
all financial needs of these
functions including monthly
reporting, forecasting, budgeting,
capital projects, and financial
analysis. Supports all areas
within Operations through special
projects and ad hoc analysis.
B.S. in accounting or Finance
required. CPA, MBA desired.
6 years experience in financial
reporting and analysis.
Excellent communication and
interpersonal skills. Ability to
work independently. Proficient in developing complex modeling within Excel, using advanced formulas. Hyperion and SAP Experience desired.
Strong understanding of basic mathematical skills up to the complexity of Algebra.
Understanding of statistical
concepts and calculations. Mastery of complex financial and accounting calculations. Solid understanding of GAAP.
Responsibilities include:
Monthly Close Process - Recording
journal entries, performing account reconciliation, explaining
variances to budget by cost center
and natural account, and answering
ad hoc questions from departments.
Issues monthly analytical reports,
including reporting on key
performance measures. Prepares
monthly reporting package for
Finance Manager.
Planning and Forecasting - Works as liaison with assigned departments to prepare monthly forecasts and annual budgets on a timely basis.
Analyzes plan and forecast numbers
for accuracy and reasonableness and explains major variances. Develops financial models to improve the quality of forecast and budget estimates. Provides departments with information to enhance planning and decision-making.
Prepares various budget reports for manager and director of Finance.
Capital Projects - Prepares
quarterly forecasts and annual
budgets for assigned departments.
Prepares capital project proposals
for all Operations departments
including detailed cost estimates,
financial analysis of costs versus
benefits, NPV and IRR calculations
and assist with the proposal write-
up. Tracks spending for approved
projects, notifying management when a project is expected to run over budget.
Special Projects and Financial
Analysis - Supports all functions
within Mail Operations and Strategy through ad hoc analysis. Including facility and capacity utilization reviews, system implementation projects, and process improvement projects.
