( Senior ) Financial Analyst (m/f) – Middle Office in Group Risk recruitment

Your new duties and responsibilities
Group Risk is responsible for pre-emptive monitoring and reporting of the risk profile for defined Allianz entities across the segments Insurance, Banking and Asset Management. Adherence to the Groups’ governance principles is the overarching target. Operating excellence of this framework plays a key role to comply with future Solvency II standards.
- Analysis and improvement of replicating portfolio optimization approach/results for Life insurance liability representations
- Identify potential improvements in the replication set-up (objective function, objective constraints, time buckets, candidate instruments, scenario choice)
- Specify changes, coordinate implementation and testing
- Improve technical analysis capabilities (research diagnostic tools)
- Create suitable management reporting format
- Roll-out of the framework across the Allianz Group
- Provide support to responsible operating entities for replicating portfolio analysis in financial closing to understand and adequately represent the liability cash flows and give guidance on how to improve the replicating quality
- Liaise with external auditors
Required qualifications and experience
Qualifications
- University degree (Masters) in mathematics, physics, economics, actuarial or related field
- Fluency in English, good communication skills; other language skills are a plus
- Trained actuary (Life), CFA a plus
Experience
- 2+ years (5+ years for senior level) experience within a life insurance / investment banking environment, consulting firm or market risk practice and good knowledge of valuation concepts of financial derivatives
- High level of analytical ability and strong knowledge in financial mathematics and/or risk management
- Mathematical background or related fields (e.g. mathematics, physics or actuarial; algorithmics and/or Moses a plus)
- Programming skills e.g. VBA, SQL, C/C++/C#, Java, PERL, Matlab, UNIX
- Advanced knowledge of standard IT software (Excel, Access, Word)
- High level of commitment and flexibility and interest to work in a dynamic and demanding environment
- Team orientation
- Algorithmic software experience a plus
- Experience with replicating portfolio concept for insurance liabilities a plus
- Experience with (portfolio) optimization problems a plus
