Senior Financial Analyst (m/f) in Group Risk recruitment

Your new duties and responsibilities
Within Allianz SE, Group Risk (GR) is charged with the task of managing risk to bolster Allianz's financial strength and to support value-focused company leadership. As such Group Risk is responsible for monitoring and reporting on the Group's overall risk profile, and thus ensuring that individual Allianz companies adhere to the Group's risk governance principles.
As Senior Financial Analyst, your responsibilities will include the following:
- Regular and ad hoc credit risk analysis of single counterparties (based on balance sheet analysis, rating information, agency reports) as well as portfolios of Allianz Operational Entities (OEs), asset classes, segments and countries, in particular critical ones; primary focus is on financial institutions and sovereigns
- Analysis and monitoring of economic and market developments
- Monitoring of the economic development of the major counterparties with respect to their financial situation and the need of counterparty exposure limit adjustment
- Calibration of the counterparty limit system, monthly limit settings or limit adjustments at the AZ Group portfolio, monitoring of limit utilisation across the Group
- Counterparty limit management: assessment of exceptional limit requests from Allianz Investment Management (AIM) or Allianz OEs, discussion of risk investment strategy with AIM OEs in case of limit breaches or escalations and decision recommendation
- Assessment of exceptional requests from AIM / OEs related to the transaction minimum standards
- Assessment of new financial instruments proposed by AIM from credit risk perspective
- Presentation of GR recommendations to the Allianz senior management
Required qualifications and experience
Qualifications
- University degree in Economics, Finance or Business Administration
- CFA or comparable international degree is a plus
- Fluency in Business English (written spoken) is mandatory; good command of German is a plus
- Proficient knowledge of the MS-Office tools as well as Bloomberg
Experience
- 7-10 years work experience in credit risk management, portfolio management or financial analysis area at a bank or asset management company
- Knowledge of investment or asset management activities either in an AZ Insurance OE or a bank
- Excellent knowledge of (international) accounting standards
- Excellent knowledge of credit analysis and risk assessment of banks, insurance companies, corporates, sovereigns as well as industry assessment
- Experience in counterparty limit management processes or credit portfolio management
- Ability to analyze complex developments in the world economy as well as in capital markets
- Excellent communication skills and confidence in dealing with senior management
- High level of commitment and interest to work in a dynamic and demanding environment
- Proven team player who possesses curiosity and creativity
