We're seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join our team in Chicago. Principle responsibilities include analysis of monthly financial results, budgeting and forecasting, financial modeling and business development support. The Sr. Financial Analyst will support the Financial Planning and Analysis Manager in his role and is expected to collect and analyze complex financial data, assist in identifying opportunities to instill best practices and create process efficiencies. Solid financial and well rounded business skills are required for success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for accurate, timely and insightful financial and operational analysis and reporting.
- Participate in the monthly and quarterly review of actual results for reasonableness and consistency with budget and prior year.
- Assist with the financial planning processes, by designing and integrating the efficient and strategic planning and forecasting procedures. Assist business leaders in the understanding of planning processes and techniques.
- Coordinate the annual budget process. Utilize financial systems and applications to improve the overall efficiency and timeliness of the budget preparation.
- Perform extensive variance analysis vs. prior year, budget and re-forecast, focusing management's attention on key issues.
- Develop and analyze business performance metrics, by partnering with the business leaders to develop an understanding of industry, corporate and customer drivers.
- Evaluate the impact of economic forecasts, as well as regulatory and industry trends on the business, to assist in recommending actions to improve financial performance.
- Develop financial models to aid evaluation of internal product initiatives and their impact on the organization's financial performance.
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics required; MBA a plus
- 3-5 years of experience in business and financial analysis, ideally in high transaction companies. Service and advertising industry experience desirable.
- Ability to analyze results and assess financial/strategic impacts of business decisions. Demonstrated ability to think strategically and generate reporting efficiencies.
- Financial and economic modeling skills required.
- Demonstrated knowledge of finance and accounting principles and procedures.
- Strong knowledge and demonstrated experience with Microsoft Excel. Familiarity with Business Intelligence tools a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to convey information in a clear, focused and concise manner.
