Your Challenge
Our client, a well known leader in the commercial real estate industry has a need for a Senior Financial Analyst to join their dynamic winning team.
Reporting to the Controller, your primary responsibilities includes providing complex transactional and full cycle accounting support for multiple portfolios and managing two direct reports.
Responsibilities:
v Provides complex transactional support for a process within the full accounting cycle and is involved in full accounting cycle for a contract (s) or business unit(s).
v Completes and resolves assigned complex account reconciliations which sees the highest transaction volume or deal with multiple portfolios or business units.
v Prepares, gathers, consolidates and reports routine and complex data.
v Prepares and reconciles complex audit working papers. Maintains accurate and complete records for audits. Gathers audit support data upon request. Documentation is reviewed prior to submission.
v Gathers, prepares and consolidates routine and complex/on demand data/reports.
v Prepares monthly client invoices and reports.
v Reviews results to determine accrual entries in coordination with internal managers.
v Prepares bank reconciliations and month end journal entries
v Validates and reviews expense reports, vendor invoices and procurement cards.
v Enters data to sub ledger systems and direct to G/L.
v Completes and resolves assigned complex account reconciliations.
v Reconciles and resolves discrepancies between the general ledger and the subledger.
v Identifies and resolves complex transactional accounting discrepancies. Recommends solutions for accounting discrepancies.
v Identifies and recommends resolutions for issues and process improvement opportunities at account and business unit level following GAAP procedures.
Qualifications:
v University Degree
v 3-5 years of job related experience ( Real Estate - commercial property management)
v Close to or completed Accounting designation ( CGA,CMA)
2-3 years managerial skills
v Ability to communicate basic accounting principles to support procedures and to explain financial results within the team and to internal customers.
v Ability to complete and resolve assigned complex account reconciliation which sees the highest transaction volume or deal with multiple portfolios or business units.
v Ability to identify and provide recommendations for issues and process improvement opportunities at account and business unit level following GAAP procedures.
v In-depth understanding of audit requirements within scope of responsibility.
v Ability to provide input to process documentations and business cases; write variance explanations, summaries of findings and recommendations.
v Advanced level knowledge of current accounting systems and MS Office suite of software
