Senior Financial Controller – International Real Estate – Amsterdam recruitment
SENIOR FINANCIAL CONTROLLER – INTERNATIONAL REAL ESTATE – Netherlands OUR CLIENT a Pan European Real Estate Fund Management business who provide international strategic solutions to clients who seek access to European real estate as they continue to grow generically and through securing new mandates they now require a Senior Controller for their Amsterdam office.
THE ROLE will assume responsibility for all management and financial accounting reporting of assigned PropCos, provide financial analysis to non-financial colleagues and manage junior accountants and specifically will entail:
- Preparing and reviewing management accounts and MI, cash flow statements, bank balance analyses and calculations of cash transfers, resolving any issues providing commentary on any variances.
- Coordinating, preparing and reviewing annual / half yearly financial statements and related audit under IFRS / local GAAP
- Reviewing prepared budgets and coordinating budgeting and reforecasting for local properties and companies in accordance with timetables provided
- Analysing and review of PropCo and Property’s actual performance against budget.
- Managing, coaching, developing the Junior Controller and local staff
- Acting as Finance expert and primary day-to-day contact point for Property Managers etc. and external relationships
- Managing the preparation of local VAT returns and local corporation tax estimates and returns.
THE PERSON: You will be a qualified accountant or equivalent work experience with C 5-7 years in an investment Fund/Property Fund environment and advanced Excel and IT skills. You will be able to demonstrate Knowledge of IFRS, Knowledge of local corporate and VAT taxation requirements and ideally possess experience of working with property / real estate investments. Additionally you will be able to demonstrate both staff management experience and a team player with a positive attitude and adaptability, professionalism and integrity. The ideal candidate will speak fluent English and preferably be able to speak Dutch.
