Senior Financial Controller recruitment

A leading banking group is recruiting for a senior financial controller to join their restructuring business. This role is responsible for ensuring the financial control over the provisions and loss data bookings process. The candidate needs to understand the impact the provisioning process has on all the other areas within the Bank and be responsible for the team's delivery to established deadlines and to frequently occurring new initiatives.

This role requires the candidate to ensure that a robust control environment exists around the provisioning process. It will also be instrumental that the candidate is able to forge strong communication networks across Finance and within the Business.

Key Role

· Responsibility for managing the Provisions Process
· Responsibility for ensuring a robust financial control environment around provisions and related financial information - clear and robust end to end process for the bookings of provisions and loss data, ensuring that all data is subject to strict reconciliation, substantiation and control.
· Accurate and timely production of monthly results in the bank's ledgers.
· Key liaison with all relevant financial controllers across the bank and the business.
· Stakeholder Management - Managing expectations of a number of key stakeholders across the bank including Relationship Managers, Executives, Group Credit Risk and Group Chief Accountants.
· Completion of Financial and Regulatory requirements for period end reporting
· Process Improvement - Key role in embedding new provision reporting tool and continuing to streamline and enhance the provisions process
· Production and analysis of provisions data in respect of the business's performance - continually focusing on how to improve the analysis and meet changing business requirements
· Team management - development of 2 staff members one qualified and 1 trainee accountant

Essential

· Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
· Good experience of financial reporting controls
· Experience of leading a team
· Strong PC skills- in particular Excel
· Experience of multiple stakeholder management
· Experience of driving process improvement
· Strong process and systems skills and understanding
