Senior Financial Crime and Sanctions Manager
Principal Responsibilities
The role holder will work with the Head of Sanctions to develop and define the vision and Strategy for the Sanctions Team, whilst maintaining a consistent approach to financial crime in line with the banks group wide standards. Additionally:
- Team management of a Sanctions Advisory team, ensure all team members are suitability galvanised to deliver and develop appropriately
- Provide significant input into the development and implementation of Sanctions Policy and standards
- Provide thought leadership on Sanctions related issues
- Support the team and wider business areas in providing day to day advice on Sanctions policy matters
- Support implementation of group wide Sanctions strategy
- Responsible for reviewing and updating local Sanctions policy and procedures where required
- Provide direct operational support to Sanctions screening teams in continuing to maintain the appropriate tuning of the Sanctions screening systems and updating the policy and procedures accordingly where required
- Ensure that Sanctions matters are correctly referred and follow appropriate escalation routes, while involving the relevant stakeholders early and fully.
Required Profile
- Candidates need to demonstrate a proven understanding of various jurisdictional sanctions laws, regulations, regulatory expectations and industry best practice.
- Proven experience in delivering critical Business initiatives
- Excellent experience of employing change management best practices and disciplines
- A solid background in financial crime is essential, whilst this is a Sanctions focussed role, a breadth of financial crime subject matter knowledge is essential as the team develops and takes on broader responsibilities.
- Proven experience of leading and developing small teams (circa 4-6 +) is essential
