Senior Financial Reporting Accountant Job in Brisbane 4000, Queensland Australia
A leading Australian financial institution is seeking a Senior Financial Reporting Accountant reporting to the Head of Finance and to manage the engagement with external advisors and regulatory authorities. The role will also be responsible for the development and enhancement of regulatory and technical financial reporting framework. There will also be a focus on the documentation of financial policy and process. Key Responsibilities
* Provide strategic technical advice, ensuring proactive management of risk and reporting framework
* Draft and manage the implementation of technical policies
* Provide day to day financial reporting advice to the finance divisions and other business units
* Responsible for the accurate and timely lodgement of reports required by regularity authorities
* Manage compliance reviews by external regulators and auditors
* Ensure compliance with company Policy and relevant statutory acts and codes
Experience Required/Qualifications
* Minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience, in a similar type role
* CPA or CA qualified
* Degree qualified
* High level of technical skill and practical exposure to a broad range of direct and indirect taxes
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Results driven
* Previous experience in financial services will be highly regarded
