Senior Financial Reporting Accounting recruitment
A Global asset management firm is actively looking for a senior fund accountant to add to their team.
A diverse and challenging role currently exists within the Europe Financial Reporting Team. The role has responsibility for ensuring technical accuracy of fund financial statements and oversight of the audit and financial statements process (annuals and interims) to ensure that deadlines are met by all parties and that the financial statements, prepared by the fund administrators, meet Blackrock’s quality standards.
The role requires;
• Liaise with multiple parties, of varying levels of seniority, throughout the audit and financial statements process.
• In depth experience of IFRS, Lux / UK / US GAAP and the UK SORP for unit trusts.
• A strong understanding of the current requirements of the accounting standards, and regulatory requirements, as they apply to funds.
• Ability to carry out analytical, qualitative and quantitative analysis of financial statements varying in levels of complexity.
• To brief audit committee and board of directors on relevant fund-specific audit matters and solutions.
• Take ownership for ad hoc project activities within the companies Financial Reporting Team, or wider Funds Administration team, as required.
• An ACA, ACCA, CIMA qualified.
• A self-starter, who demonstrates attention to detail.
• Be a team player, excellent communicator and able to build and maintain relations both internally and externally.
• Relationship management, and service feedback, with the Financial Reporting teams at multiple fund administrators, providing input into any internal upward reporting on performance
• Significant audit experience at assistant manager level audits and teams would be a minimum requirement. Experience at Audit Manager level would be advantageous, but not essential.
