Responsibilities
Columbia Management, an Ameriprise Financial company is seeking an Investment Grade Corporate Bond Analyst, with a focus on the banking, finance and REIT Industries, to be based in either Boston, MA or Minneapolis, MN.
Accountabilities
- Conduct fundamental credit research on investment grade corporate bonds in assigned industries and communicate investment recommendations to portfolio managers.
- Conduct analysis of industries through financial modeling, gathering information, preparing industry reviews, listening to conference calls, attending company roadshows, doing internet searches.
- Produce concise written research and verbally articulate credit strengths and risks to portfolio managers and traders.
- Monitor industry trends and contribute to team strategy discussions.
Required Qualifications
- At least 4 years of corporate credit research experience: bank, finance and REIT industry experience preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to quickly analyze credit quality and respond to requests in timely manner
- Quantitative and qualitative analytical skills to perform credit analysis, including proficiency with software tools such as Excel and Word.
Preferred Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in Finance, MBA finance and CFA are preferred.
