Senior Fixed Income / LDI Portfolio Manager recruitment

Role includes:

Design, implement and manage appropriate funds using the appropriate sub-adviser(s) to achieve client objectives in terms of down-side protection, asset-swaps and other bespoke strategies to assist in the on-going asset and liability management of pension funds.
Creating solutions to help improve clients’ funding levels by combining liability protection strategies (LDI) with diversified Fixed Income portfolios
Responsible for setting clients’ asset strategy combining investment committee views on strategic asset allocation and incorporating specific client investment objectives and restrictions.
Working with the structuring team to design an appropriate and efficient liability hedge which is executed through either pooled funds or more bespoke derivative overlay
Liaising with Manager Research to ensure top buy-rated managers are included in the portfolios and that suitable managers are available for investment for fixed income strategies
Engaging with economists to ensure asset class and economic views are expressed within portfolios
Close relationship with client account management team and clients to ensure strategic objectives are incorporated into mandate design
Regular presentations to clients to explain performance provide market outlooks and outline portfolio changes.

Requirements:

10 years fund management experience (from either an Asset Manager or Fiduciary Management firm) focused on fixed income strategies with particular focus on LDI, derivatives and structured products.
Strong communication skills to be able to simplify and communicate complex concepts to lay trustees.
Team player to promote collaboration to leverage intellectual capital to provide leading edge solutions to clients.
Leadership and mentoring skills needed to develop the next generation of senior investment professionals.
