Senior Fixed Income Operations Analyst

Currently, we are seeking a talented Sr. Fixed Income Operations Analyst to join the Corporate Division. The Corporate Division supports the goals and initiatives of all other divisions throughout the company and its subsidiaries. 

POSITION OVERVIEW:
Responsible for processing, controlling, and improving the processing of trades made by Portfolio Management – Corporate IM and Pacific Asset Management. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• A solid working knowledge of how each Security traded by PL and its Entities works, in particular the risks and potential costs to errors, failing trades and the impact to Pacific Life of operating errors.
• The ability to thoroughly understand the front to back flow of several desks to include trade capture, trade reconciliation, and all trade management functions (e.g. settlement, confirmations, and corporate actions). 
• The ability to thoroughly understand the common workflow processes across multiple desks.
• Thorough knowledge of the following products traded and how they work, including Credit Derivatives, Equity Swaps, Interest Rate Swaps, OTC Options, Exchange Traded Futures and Options, FX Options/Forwards/Spot, Bonds, Repos, Private Placements, and Term Loans.

FACTORS FOR SUCCESS:
• 7+ years experience working in Investment operations/middle office role in asset management, Hedge Fund, or investment banking.
• Advanced college degree in finance, accounting, or similar discipline, is preferred.
• Demonstrated strong MS Excel skills (able to execute VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, etc.).
• Thorough working knowledge of complex security types, including derivatives and synthetic products.
• Thorough understanding of typical trade flow processes.
• Strong aptitude for numbers and ability to understand abstract concepts and recognize patterns.
• Creative thinker and problem solver.
• Demonstrated ability to clearly and effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
• Must be self-initiated, strong planner and organizer.
• Strong working knowledge of the following systems:
o Bloomberg, Maximis, STP (in house system called Straight Thru Processing); Credit Monitor, Broker 2, Eagle Pace, Wall Street Office, TRIIS, and Tomale.
• CFA/CAIA are useful, but not required.
. Role will begin at 5.30am to cover NY opening
