Responsibilities
Columbia Management, an Ameriprise Financial company, is seeking a Sr. Fixed Income Trader
- Syndicate to be based in the firm's Boston, MA office.
* Responsible for managing the new issue book across investment grade and structures markets.
* Ensure consistent messaging to the Street.
* Develop and maintain a strong working relationship with sell side syndicate desks.
* Interact actively with portfolio managers, research analysts and traders on idea generation and relative value capital.
* Develop reverse inquiry ideas including structuring deal terms and covenants.
* Collect and disseminate new issue information to portfolio managers, traders and research analysts.
* Develop unique sources of information to help analyze and predict company issuance needs.
* Coordinate efforts with Equity team counterpart.

Required Qualifications
* Minimum of 5 years relevant syndicate experience with significant experience in the investment grade corporate market.
* Ability to timely and independently identify and develop investment opportunities.
* Ability to work well independently and as a member of a team.
* Demonstrated superior performance and strong decision making skills.
* Rigorous attention to detail and good time management skills.
* Strong verbal, analytical and computer skills (Excel and Bloomberg).
* BA/BS degree required, MBA and/or CFA preferred.
