Senior Functional Configurator, Transportation Inbound

The Senior Functional Configurator (Transportation) is responsible for understanding our clients transportation network, understanding business requirements and performing program configuration/modification and set-up activities using specific process techniques. This position requires extensive knowledge of Manhattan TMS with a focus on how it needs to interface with other functional areas. This is a business-facing role that serves as a liaison between the business and Information technology teams. This position will interface with various Information Technology, Functional, and Business teams to ensure that business requirements are properly configured within Manhattan. The Senior Functional Configurator provides expert technical direction to functional configurators and contractors, and updates the Manager, Project Manager, or Sr. Manager on day to day activities and status.

Position Responsibilities:

· Gather detailed requirements from business users for approved large scale projects and small enhancements to existing projects.
· Perform design for approved large scale projects and small enhancements to existing projects.
· Perform program configuration/modification and set-up activities on large projects using specific process techniques.
· Coordinate User Acceptance testing (UAT) with the Business Client. Provide System Requirement Documents (SRD) and Systems External Specifications (SES) documents to the UAT and System test groups, to assist with testing scenarios.
· Coordinate training and rollout plans for new systems or enhancements to existing systems.
· Provide expert technical direction to functional configurators and contractors.
· Provide project leadership for multiple projects and activities.
· Partner with management, business groups (Distribution Transportation), IT teams (Architecture, Infrastructure, Development) on best practices, design, and environment setup.
· Provide Subject Matter Expertise in the area of transportation.
· Provide expert technical direction to developers on developing FORMs and Reports
· Interface with Business Stakeholders, IT Infrastructure teams, Development teams to ensure that business requirements are properly configured within SAP.

Experience/Knowledge Required:

· Must meet minimum time in position and performance management requirements (minimum “V2”)
· Bachelor degree (or equivalent) in math, engineering, or computer science.
· Extensive knowledge of transportation.
· Five or more years direct experience with Manhattan TMS (Outbound transportation), preferably in a retail environment.
· Knowledge and experience in other Manhattan TMS modules is an asset
· Proven ability to work creatively in a problem-solving environment with strong decision-making skills.
· Ability to partner with various levels of the business (including distribution centres, operators, and business senior management) and IT.
· Strong communication (both oral and written) skills.
· Experience with structured project methodology.
· Experience in the creation and maintenance of business requirements documents, project plans, test plans, and other project-related documents.
· Ability to be self-directing and work independently. Ability to manage workload and report project status concisely.
· Computer literacy with strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project.
