Senior Gas Conversion Process Engineer
The Gas Conversion Process Engineer position provides process engineering expertise to gas technology assessment, research and/or development in support of Chevron's business needs and growth. Areas of technology focus include gas conversion (GTL), syngas production and conversion, gas processing, and CO2 capture technologies. Position Details: Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to: Serves as Chevron's technical representative and provides technical guidance at external Joint Industrial technology projects and for external research providers. Provides technical support to field trials and/or technology demonstration projects. Stays abreast of new gas technology development and deployment, global and regional regulatory development, and understands how these may impact Chevron's business and technology strategy. Interfaces with SMEs, Chevron's researchers and planners/coordinators to ensure integrated and optimal technology solutions are provided to the customers. Required Qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree in Chemical engineering. A minimum of 10 years of process engineering experience in Gas Conversion (GTL) technologies and gas processing. Experience in techno-economic assessment and development of new process technology required. Demonstrated project management skills and experience with Strategic Research or Technology Development projects or capital projects. Able to set aggressive but realistic schedules, including identifying opportunities for improvement, setting technical milestones and deliverables, managing stakeholders, budgets and expenditures, and understanding business impact. Ability to manage multiple activities and projects in parallel. Demonstrated decision making skill set - ability to apply and lead CSOC behaviors. Knowledge and experience in managing and providing work direction to others. Competent in commercial dealings with technology companies. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with technical peers, management, and internal and external stakeholders. Demonstrated experience in building relationships and ensuring alignment with management, stakeholders and partners. Demonstrated capability of working in a diverse and distributed team environment. Ability to collaborate with a diverse group of internal external partners/stakeholders across geographic and functional groups. Able to represent Chevron in industry projects and partnerships. Demonstrated ability to apply engineering analysis to complex problems and identify opportunities for improvement. The willingness and ability to travel up to 25% of the time to domestic and international locations. Preferred Qualifications: A Doctorate or Masters Degree in Chemical Engineering. Experience in Upstream and/or Downstream process plants, process design for capital projects will be considered. Experience in techno-economic assessment.
