Senior Government Relations Manager

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Government Relations Manager for our client a leading financial services organisation based in London. This is a high profile role within the bank with the purpose of helping to manage relationships and communications with key political audiences, stakeholders and relevant decision-makers in order to build a positive environment to pursue strategy and business goals. The role reports into The Head of Government Relations Public Policy.

You will be expected to assist in maintaining and developing an active government and political relations programme, ensuring that the banks views are correctly represented in the formulation and adoption of UK policy and legislation. The candidate will also work closely with Group Public Policy, inputting into the development of Group positions on key EU issues. In addition, You will have knowledge of the UK and EU political structures, legislative programmes and the lobbying process. You will need solid experience in a public affairs role either in-house, in consultancy or within Government combined with a strong commercial awareness. You will need to have the ability to advise and influence within the business and with key political stakeholders and work closely with key internal stakeholders such as Compliance, Marketing and Media Relations to ensure that all communications are consistent and support the bank's objectives.

This is a temporary position with the view to go permanent so you must be available at no more than 1 weeks' notice. You will need to have experience in a similar position within financial services, be a good team player and have excellent standard of written skills and oral communication skills as well as be a good multi-tasker and be able to juggle tasks as priorities change.
