ABOUT OUR CLIENT

Our client is a family owned ship owner and manager employing 15,000 seafarers and more than 1,200 people onshore currently headquartered in Europe.  They manage in excess of 500 vessels and own more than 90 and also own an international real estate portfolio.

THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT

The successful applicant will be degree qualified in finance or accounting and have a minimum of 2 years of working experience at a corporate level as a Senior Group Accountant.  You will be responsible for Group budgets, year-end closing processes, global IFRS ad-hoc work and projects.  You also have the ability to work closely as part of a team performing routine, ad hoc as well as financial analysis on various projects and control.  International work experience, accuracy, flexibility, good analytical, technical, oral and written communication skills are positive factors.

JOB DESCRIPTION

As Senior Group Accountant you will be responsible for the Group budget, quarterly and year-end closing process as well as coordinating and monitoring the local and overseas corporate managers, group auditors to ensure timely and good quality financial reporting. You will act in a supporting role to the various international locations with IFRS expertise. You will confirm Group accounting records are maintained in accordance with IFRS, Group Policies and legal agreements / contracts.  You should proactively seek opportunities to identify inefficiencies, research/analyze data, and create solutions alternatives.  Finally you will participating in financial and commercial projects from a group treasury perspective.
