Senior Hardware Quality Assurance Engineer Job in Canton 02021, Massachusetts US
SUMMARY: Performs all Hardware Quality Assurance functions, based on objectives and goals set forth by the Director of Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing and Quality Assurance by performing the following duties:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Develop, establish, and maintain quality assurance programs, procedures and controls for internal and external hardware manufacturing to ensure conformance of product quality to customer and company requirements.
- Interface with customers and suppliers to resolve customer issues.
- Work with Supply Chain and Application Engineering to ensure flow-down of contractual requirements
- Represent Quality Assurance at Engineering Change Board, Material Review and Failure Analysis Boards
- Ability to Design and Create Measurement Instrument Hardware and Software to execute Quality Assurance testing
- Track, report and analyze defects driving to root cause analysis, and providing continuous improvement.
- Measure and analyze product performance under stress.
- Audit domestic and international vendors to ensure compliance with specified Quality Levels.
- Drive continuous improvement process for product developers and suppliers
- Review in-progress product designs for robustness, process, and compliance to company’s product requirements.
- Lead and participate in Supplier Quality Audits and Supplier Developments

- Comprehensive understanding of Quality Assurance methodologies and processes
- High Energy self-starting team player who achieves goals and focuses on continuous improvement for self and team
- Practical with strong theoretical foundation of Quality, how it impacts Product Reliability and Utility
- Strong problem solving skills such as process mapping and root cause analysis.
- Strong experience with 8-D or similar techniques.
- Direct experience with establishing SPC programs in high volume manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of electronic industry IPC standards such as IPC-A-610CD
- Excellent Interpersonal and multi-cultural skills
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCES:
- BS in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics
- 6+ years Experience in a Quality Assurance role with High Volume Consumer, Automotive, Medical or Telecommunication Manufacturing
COMPUTER SKILLS:
- Labview
- Matlab or equivalent
- Spreadsheets, Word Processors
- CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: ASQ Certified Six Sigma Black Belt or Certified Quality Engineer
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: No direct reports but may supervise audits and other internal and external activities.
OTHER: Willing to travel Internationally to the Far East, Europe, Central and South America for up to 10 days. Preferred ability to Speak, Read and Write Mandarin.
