Senior Hedge Fund Accountant recruitment

The role involves completing
•An analytical review of the valuation versus global stock market indices,
•Reviewing Prime Broker/Custodian security and cash positions versus Fund Accounting records.
•Liaising directly with the Investment managers, Client, Prime Brokers, Internal Citigroup departments, Stock Exchanges, Auditors.
•Review and investigate corporate action events that impact the published value of the Fund (Stock Splits, Bonus Issues, Acquisitions, Mergers etc)
•Review the valuation of securities on the portfolio covering Equity, Debt, Futures, Options, Interest Rate Swaps, Credit Default Swaps, Total Return Swaps, Swaptions, Foreign Exchange Contracts,  Asset Backed Securities, Commercial Paper, Medium Term Notes, other derivatives, treasury instruments, distressed deb
•Review of fee accruals and expenses posted to valuations
•Ensuring accuracy and correctness of the Funds published valuation, by conducting an analytical review of the value of the underlying assets

The successful candidate should
•Have a good understanding of basic Financial and/or Accounting principles.
•Be familiar with how to analyze reporting in conjunction with the Investment Managers positions and liaise directly with the Investment Manager on any open items.
•Have a good understanding of securities markets including Debt and Equity as well as Derivative and Emerging markets
•Have a broad understanding of the different investments Investment objectives / instruments available to fund managers
•Be familiar with performance equalization, series accounting, side pocket arrangements.
•Be confident, articulate and comfortable with communicating with fund mangers and directors
•Have a strong understanding of accounting principals and experience in producing financial statements for fund companies.

•Have a primary degree or professional accounting qualification
•Strong communication skills
•PC literate
•Self motivated
•Able to work well as the member of a team
•High level of accuracy with keen of attention to detail
•Strong numeric skills
•Able to organize own work and manage own time
•Use own initiative
•A willingness to learn to learn in a constantly changing environment
•Good business judgment, knowing when to escalate, who to keep informed to identify appropriate next steps / resolution
•Methodical with excellent oral and written communication skills
•Proven record for complex issue resolution.
