Senior High Yield Portfolio Manager

International Asset Manager for European Pension clients seeks a qualified candidate for its N.Y. office to co-manage its US HY investments. The manager has $450BN total assets under management, including $70BN allocated to fixed income, primarily in the EU and US. In addition to co-managing its U.S. HY fund, the candidate would opportunistically invest in HY for its US Core Plus strategies. Total U.S. HY investments currently amount to $5BN. US PMs, analysts and strategists work in close collaboration with their European HY counterparts on investment themes, relative value and asset allocation as part of the management of a global investment portfolio.

 

The ideal candidate would have a minimum of 5 years of HY portfolio management experience and enjoy working in a dynamic, team environment. The candidate would work within an integrated credit group including investment grade portfolio managers, HY portfolio managers and Credit Analysts.

 

In addition to actively managing its HY investments, the HY PMs are responsible for formulating a strategic view of the asset class and assessing the relative value of the asset class compared to other fixed income asset classes. Adherence to a structured Investment Process and superior communication skills to discuss current positions and strategies, describe recent changes in key positions and explain investment results are a must. Further, the candidate must have a deep knowledge base of credit, business cycles, covenants, and balance sheet analysis.

 

The candidate would also liaise with internal departments on investment policies, procedures, risk measurement and compliance related issues.
