Posted Position Title: Senior Hydraulics Engineer Clothes Washers Career Level: Experienced Function Engineering/Technology Function Segment: Product Design and Development Location: United States U.S. State, China or Canada Provinces: Kentucky City: Louisville Postal Code: 40225-0001 Relocation Assistance Yes Role Summary/Purpose: Work as a senior hydraulics design expert within the Clothes Care Advanced systems team. Essential Responsibilities -Create analytical model of clothes wash/hydraulic systems -Create system design and execute detailed component design for the clothes washer wash/hydraulic systems, including prototyping multiple design paths. -Develop and setup test fixtures for individual components of the clothes washer wash/hydraulic system -Create test procedures for reliability of individual components of the hydraulic/wash system -Evaluate in-house and competitor designs -Understand the patent landscape and document novel concepts to enhance GEs IP portfolio -Work with New Product Teams to implement new designs in production -Occasional International and/or Domestic travel required Qualifications/Requirements: -Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering -10 years minimum of comprehensive product design and development experience of low pressure hydraulic systems -Self-starting leader with excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills -Ability to translate theoretical designs into practical working prototypes -Demonstrated creativity and external focus -Demonstrated entrepreneurial drive and spirit -Move to Louisville, Kentucky or surrounding area full time Additional Eligibility Qualifications GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening. Desired Characteristics -Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering -Prior mechanical design experience in consumer products or other related industry -Prior pump design experience -5 years Pro/Engineer and/or SolidWorks solid modeling experience -Proficient in LabView, PLC programming, or other control development package -Resourceful laboratory and shop skills -Experience with design concept development through rapid prototyping techniques
