First Data. Beyond the Transaction. Serves as the project manager for new client implementations and program upgrades, technical changes or service maintenance projects for existing clients. Assumes overall accountability for ensuring that the client's implementation or conversion experience is successful. Develops, coordinates, and executes implementation/conversion project plans, task schedules and resource activities to ensure on-time and effective project delivery. Ensures that all client technical, business and delivery expectations are met. Other responsibilities may include: project management, business systems analysis, preparation of cost benefits, functional analyses, operational reviews, collateral design, testing, training and delivery of start-up products, conversions, new system features and product enhancements. Provide support and work direction to vendors, clients, customers and appropriate First Data departments. Identify opportunities to streamline procedures, enhance revenue and improve product efficiency. Minimize First Data and First Data client base liability exposure. Other duties as assigned. Responsible for delivery of projects to the client and/or internal organizations by providing subject matter expertise on specific products / project types. This includes completion and approval of testing, user documentation, and blended learning plans. Work with Project Team on project management activities using Standard Project Methodology. Activities include: independently and consistently conducting status meetings, publishing meeting minutes, updating and modifying task lists, and post implementation surveys and reviews. Responsible for insuring business and system development methodologies are followed and continuously improved. This includes insuring clients and other departments are actively participating in appropriate phases of the process, such as requirements definition and quality inspection of design documents. Identify, research, analyze and write business requirements to insure client and market needs are met. This includes working closely with clients and internal departments to clearly understand and address business problems and issues. Responsible for matching client defined requirements to FD solutions. Evaluate customer priorities relative to internal FDR department lead-time requirements . Travel/Nights/Weekends may be required. 3-5 years of FD system expreience or relevant payment processing expreience. 1-2 years of project management experience with moderate levels of complexity with minimal management guidance. Bachelors degree preferred or relevant work experience. Ability to communicate effectively at all levels within First Data. Familiarity with systems analysis, user specifications, definition and reporting requirements of data processing and telecommunications systems. Technical understanding of hardware configuration and software configuration capabilities. In-depth knowledge of banking and electronic funds transfer laws and regulations, financial industry operations, financial corporate structure and financial systems. Ability to develop and process working knowledge of project management methodology. Working knowledge of technical and operational aspects of First Data products, services, policies and procedures. Ability to quickly develop extensive knowledge in specific areas dictated by the project. Must be able to coordinate multiple, major projects and assignments simultaneously. Analytical skills and problem-solving abilities associated with development of short and long term system product solutions. Strong written communication skills, including but not limited to, draft proposals, business requirements, system specifications, project outlines, etc. Strong verbal communication skills, including but not limited to, advising, instructing, conducting presentations and chairing conference calls. Ability to understand interdepartmental relationships and the dependencies as they affect a given project. Direct customer in methods of utilizing First Data system features to maximize productivity and profitability. Advise customer of options and alternatives and recommend appropriate choices of processing options. Ability to direct the activities of personnel assigned to a project from various departments by employing project management skills.
