Senior Industry Analyst (Banking Focus)

We have an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated professional to undertake the critical role of identifying and analysing emerging trends in the Banking industry with the aim of focusing supervisory activity towards prudentially relevant developing risk issues. As part of the role, the Senior Industry Analyst is required to liaise across all levels of APRA, maintain industry risk watch reports, and produce analysis for supervision teams and Executive Group. The majority of decisions made by the position are concerned with analysing financial situations and identifying developments across the banking industry and recommending action to be taken to address concerns.

We are looking for an individual with a strong industry experience, knowledge of banking prudential reporting and are knowledgeable of trends and prudential issues affecting the industry. Strong analytical, investigative and research skills is required as is the highest levels of integrity.

The successful candidate will be degree qualified, preferably in commerce, economics, finance or accounting, and have demonstrated excellent communication, analytical and report-writing skills. A strong capacity to question and challenge information presented is required, as well as a willingness to recommend and influence change within specific timelines. Being a motivated team player is essential, as is excellent time management skills.
